Zuma's plans for top job

Zuma would adopt a far less defensive approach to race, his advisers said, pointing out that he has developed a good relationship with the white Afrikaner community.

BWHAAHAHAAAAHHHAAWHHHHAA!
One chop tanning organised by de K@k magazine and bob's your uncle... one instant "good relationship with the white afrikaner community".

As usual ... nothing of substance from the Zuma camp

At the moment one cant read a lot onto those ideas and the ANC policy congress will be coming sometime later this year.

I'm not a Zuma fan at all, and I think most forumites are aware of my utter abhorrence of T-Bone. However, there are only two things that I find problematic with Jacob Zuma's policies as discussed in the M&G article: his desire to move the NPA into a division of the SAPS and the fact that he will likely be an impediment to Media freedom in the country.

One good thing that definitely comes from this is that the people are given concrete highlights on T-Bones significant shortcomings - both as a president but even more so as a person.

If he moves the NPA into the SAPS then he would not be able to utilize them the same way Mbeki is alleged to be, i.e. to fight political battles...
I agree with you on the media freedom...the SABC's blacklisting saga already hinted at censorship...But again we can rest assured that he won't have friends in the media (except the afrikaaner media)which is a good thing...

But most Afrikaans media is owned by Naspers, that owns a lot of the English media as well

I hear BA has quite good leg room in the landing gear. :D Just don't pick SAA, you might get on the JNB - JFK flight and get off in Dakar by mistake.:D

By then I'll just be happy to get off the ground

How's the inflight service and entertainment on a BA flight?

Isn't Johnic/Johncom linked to the ANC somehow through Cyril Ramaphosa or someone like that? Also remember reading that Tony O'Reilly of the Independent group is quite cosy with the ANC.

Its normally good but might be a bit lacking in the landing gear, your oxygen mask might not drop as you lose pressure. :D I prefer Virgin.
