3,000 former Nashua Mobile Cell C subscribers blocked in migration
Around 3,000 of the 55,000 Cell C subscribers who were migrated from Nashua Mobile to Altech Autopage were “soft locked” because their accounts were flagged as being in arrears.
This is according to a spokesperson from Altech Autopage.
The migration of Cell C subscribers from Nashua Mobile to Altech Autopage started this week (3 – 7 November 2014), and many customers have reported issues with the process.
In particular, some users have complained that they have been cut off, and that they were receiving conflicting information from the Autopage call centre about the problem.
A number of subscribers said that their accounts were not in arrears, adding that Autopage call centre agents then told them that there was a technical issue, but could not give an idea of when it would be fixed.
A spokesperson for Altech Autopage has since responded to our questions about the migration and said they are contacting affected customers by SMS to clarify whether their accounts are paid up or not.
“All paid up customer accounts are in the process of being unblocked as we confirm the status of these accounts,” Autopage said. “We are also engaging with customers who are in arrears.”
All other customers have been successfully migrated to Altech Autopage, the spokesperson said.
Asked what customers should do should they experience issues, Autopage said that they must first reboot their phones.
At least one subscriber told MyBroadband this fix has worked for them.
“If they are still unable to connect, they should contact an Altech Autopage help desk agent who will confirm the status of their account,” the spokesperson said.
