Vodacom Android Honeycomb tablet launched
Vodacom quietly launched its SmartTab Android tablet range last week Thursday (2 February 2012), with its website stating that it runs on Android Honeycomb 3.2 and would be available from “participating Vodacom outlets.”
Head of corporate communications at Vodacom, Nomsa Thusi, said that the device is available at Vodacom World and that a list of participating outlets would be provided soon.
Vodacom offers the Vodafone SmartTab range in a 7-inch and 10-inch variant, with both devices said to sport the same hardware otherwise.
Over and above the usual gamut of hardware, the devices also offer the following:
- In addition to the standard Android apps, it also has QuickOffice Pro, which allows you to view, create and modify documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Preloaded games and video editing software.
- Share your pics, music and videos with other devices via USB on-the-go.
- Can be connected to any HD or HD ready TV.
- Dropbox comes pre-installed.
