South African email spammers named, shamed

The Internet Service Providers’ Association of South Africa (ISPA) has updated its “Spam Hall of Shame”, naming and shaming South Africa’s biggest e-mail spammers and e-mail address resellers.

This update follows a ruling in June 2013 where the South Gauteng High Court dismissed, with costs, an application by Ketler Investments to be removed from ISPA Spam Hall of Shame.

“This ruling vindicates ISPA’s efforts to combat spam originating in South Africa as well as being a victory for freedom of speech,” the association said in a statement.

The latest ISPA Hall of Shame report named 50 local e-mail spammers and 31 South African e-mail address resellers.
