Absa Internet banking outage
Absa’s digital banking platforms, including online and cellphone banking, are offline, the bank has confirmed via its official communication channels on social media.
Clients affected by the outage have taken to social media to complain, saying that Absa’s online services were down since about 06:00 on Friday, 12 December 2014.
Responding to complaints, Absa said that only automatic teller machines were working at the time of publication.
It added that its digital services team was working on resolving the issue, and promised clients it would inform them when its digital banking systems were restored.
