2GB mobile data prices in SA compared
Neotel launched new broadband packages and data bundles in August 2011 to increase the choice of data and voice solutions available to consumers.
Neotel’s new products include two NeoGo packages, offering consumers 2GB of data per month at R99 and 3GB of data and a dongle at R179 per month.
Vodacom and 8ta have also unveiled aggressively priced mobile data promotions over the last few weeks.
Vodacom announced on 24 August 2011 that they will cut their prepaid and top up data prices by up to 42% from 19 September. The company also unveiled a ‘double your prepaid data’ promotion on their bigger prepaid data bundles.
Vodacom’s announcement comes only days after 8ta announced their new prepaid data special that offers subscribers 2GB of anytime data and 1GB “midnight surfer” data for R149. ‘Midnight surfer’ data can be used between 00:00 and 05:00.
