OpenView HD subscriber numbers skyrocket
eMedia Holdings – the parent of e.tv and OVHD – has released its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2016, revealing a sharp increase in OpenView HD subscriber numbers.
The company said OpenView HD activations increased from 112,715 to 388,812 over the past year financial year, an increase of 245%.
“Management believes that the investment in quality channels and a multi-channel platform will stand the group in good stead when the DTT roll-out ramps up,” said eMedia.
OpenView HD’s subscriber numbers were last reported at the 350,000 mark in February.
OpenView HD charges no subscription fee and offers content in 720p, where possible, on channels such as eHD, eToonz+, eKasi+ , eMovies+, and Beatlab.tv.
