Netflix rolling out HTTPS streaming

Netflix has developed a plan to add encryption to its Open Connect servers, which will add a layer of security to the streaming service.

Its Open Connect servers allow Netflix’s library to be delivered to viewers around the world.

The company announced an update to its plan to roll out HTTPS encryption for streams on its tech blog, following the plan’s initial announcement in 2015.

Netflix expects most streams to use TLS encryption before the end of 2016.
