New DStv VOD services launched
DStv announced in a press release on Friday 17 January 2014, that its applications for Android and iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad, have been updated with new video on-demand features.
The DStv iOS app now lets DStv Premium customers download selected videos from DStv Catch Up on both iPhones and iPads.
Live streaming of major sporting events has also been incorporated into the SuperSport iOS and Android apps, DStv said. This too is a service for DStv Premium subscribers.
To access DStv Catch Up on your iPhone or iPad, MultiChoice provided the following guide:
- Install the latest version of the DStv App from the Apple iTunes App Store.
- Run the app and press the CATCH UP button at the bottom of the app screen.
- Sign in with your DStv Connect ID. If you don’t have one yet, sign up at http://www.dstv.com/ and remember to link your smartcard in the registration process.
- You can now stream a large selection of DStv Catch Up videos in the app; certain videos are also available to download.
To access live streaming with SuperSport, MultiChoice provided the following guide:
- Install the latest version of the SuperSport App from the Apple iTunes App Store or from the Google Play Store.
- When you run the app you’ll immediately see all the available video, including what’s currently live and what’s coming up.
- Sign in with your DStv Connect ID. If you don’t have one yet, sign up at http://www.dstv.com/ and remember to link your smartcard in the registration process.
- Press the red play button.
Streams are available whether you’re connected to the Internet via a mobile network or a Wi-Fi connection, DStv said.
