Vetex, a company focused on data and Internet connectivity, has struck a deal with Telkom to offer subscribers uncapped Internet browsing, social media, and instant messaging for R149 per month.
The R149 per month Vetex V-120 SIM also offers subscribers R50 free airtime per month, and the following uncapped services: Internet browsing, social media, instant messaging, and email.
The service has no contract, and is billed on a month-to-month basis. There is, however, a R199 activation fee.
Vetex also offers a cheaper service for those wanting only social media and email through their mobile subscription.
The Vetex V-50 SIM, priced at R69.99 per month, offers R50 free airtime monthly with the following uncapped services: Facebook, WhatsApp, Mxit, BBM, Google, and email.
These SIMs do have some restrictions, though – the download speed is limited (throttled) to 258kbps by Vetex.
The uncapped services exclude browsing and downloading porn, audio/video streaming services, and gambling sites.
Telkom confirmed it has a commercial agreement with Vetex to sell Telkom products and services.
