Cell C launching LTE-Advanced soon
Cell C CEO Jose Dos Santos has said the mobile operator will launch LTE-Advanced on its network in the next “2 to 3 weeks”.
Dos Santos made the statement during an interview on CliffCentral’s Leadership Platform.
In January, Cell C said it did not have a firm launch date for LTE-Advanced – following an LTE-Advanced demonstration at AfricaCom in November 2015, which saw 138Mbps download speeds reached.
Cell C focussed on the roll-out of around 1,000 LTE sites during 2015, said the company, while running LTE-A tests in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
Cell C said it was unable to comment further on its current LTE-A roll-out plans.
