Cell C network problems resolved
Cell C subscribers in the Midrand and Pretoria areas have had their network connection restored after a fibre break interrupted both voice and data services on Wednesday.
“We are happy to report that the earlier network outage has been fixed and also apologies to our customer for any inconvenience caused,” said Karin Fourie, Senior Manager of Public and Media Relations at Cell C.
The outage which started Wednesday morning, saw several Cell C subscribers tweeting their frustrations on social networking platform Twitter.
The mobile operator responded to the tweets citing that its technicians were out on site working on the problem. Fourier confirmed that a fibre break occurred resulting in the lack of connectivity, but said the cause had yet to be established.
