Cell C network problems explained
Following confirmation of widespread issues on its network, Cell C has told MyBroadband that it traced the cause of its problems in Cape Town to a faulty transmitter on Table Mountain.
A Cell C spokesperson said that the transmitter caused interference in their 3G frequency band and that they were informed that the faulty transmitter was Sentech’s.
The problem has been resolved, Cell C said.
“The other reported issues in Durban and Midrand by a small group of customers were all different and were normal day-to-day issues,” Cell C said. This includes faulty devices, congestion on a specific tower, and other problems, they elaborated.
Cell C emphasised that its network was fully functional throughout and that it didn’t experience any outage.
