Tesla Master Plan, Part Deux
Elon Musk has unveiled Tesla’s second master plan, which follows his first master from 10 years ago – which is now in the final stages of completion.
The first master plan was to create a low-volume car, use that money to create a cheaper medium-volume car, use that money to create an affordable, high-volume car, and provide solar power.
His new master plan focusses on achieving a sustainable energy economy, where the world will no longer use fossil fuels for energy.
Here is what Tesla is planning to do to make a sustainable energy economy a reality:
- Integrate Energy Generation and Storage, by creating integrated solar-roof-with-battery products.
- Expand to Cover the Major Forms of Terrestrial Transport, by ramping up consumer vehicle production and delivering heavy-duty trucks and high passenger-density urban transport.
- Autonomy, where all Tesla vehicles will have the hardware necessary to be self-driving with fail-operational capability.
- Sharing, where your car can make money for you when you aren’t using it.
