Android Wear devices now work with iPhones

Android Wear for iOS is here, Google has announced.

Only the LG Watch Urbane is supported for now, but Google said all future Android Wear smartwatches – including those from Huawei, Asus, and Motorola – will support iOS.

Owners of supported Android Wear devices can pair them to their iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or later.

With the app, the following information can be pushed from an iPhone to the watch:

• Notifications – See information such as phone calls, messages, and notifications from mobile apps.
• Fitness tracking – Set fitness goals, and get daily and weekly views of your progress. Your watch automatically tracks walking and running, and measures your heart rate.
• Smart help – Receive tips like when to leave for appointments, traffic info, and flight status. Say “Ok Google” to ask questions like “Is it going to rain in London tomorrow?” or create to-dos with “Remind me to pack an umbrella.”
