Intel planning 8th-gen Core processor release for 2017
Intel’s full range of 7th-generation processors landed in South Africa in January, offering improved performance over its 6th-gen counterparts.
With many still deciding whether to upgrade their CPUs, Intel has announced that its 8th-generation of Core processors are due to be released in the second half of 2017.
Intel said the new chips will give users a 15% performance increase over the 7th-gen CPUs, and will be built on the 14nm process.
Engadget noted that Intel is yet to release chips based on the “long-delayed 10nm process”.
