The unstoppable Linux Litebook

Lifebook

Litebook has launched a $249 Linux laptop, which the company said is highly optimised, and free of bloatware, malware, and viruses.

“Unlike Macs, Litebooks are affordable, customisable, and are backwards compatible with Windows software,” it said.

The Alpha Litebook offers a 14.1-inch Full HD screen, Intel Quad-Core CPU, 4GB RAM, a 500GB HDD, and a 720p webcam.

Applications supported natively on Litebooks include Chrome, Spotify, Skype, and Steam.

All Litebooks come preinstalled with WPS Office Suite, which is compatible with Microsoft Office.

The Litebook runs on Elementary OS, which follows a security-first philosophy.
