The unstoppable Linux Litebook

That is a neat little thing.

In this price class I think the chromeOS would be better performance wise?

Nice spec for the price. But can you get one in SA?

So its basically a netbook with Elementary OS and Wine preinstalled?

I dont see why this is any different to any other netbook.

I'm a bit out of touch but I don't recall any Netbooks having 14" 1080P screens (and presumably the big keyboard that goes along with such a sizable form-factor). That makes it actually usable.

That thing would suite all my needs I have for a notebook.

I just had a look at their site and they have international shipping, USPS Flat Rate (4-15 Days): $14.00 for South Africa.

$14 is a good price for shipping from the US. Very tempted.

It seems to have an m.2 slot since they offer an SSD upgrade that doesn't replace the 512Gb platter drive. Pretty sweet...as others have said, a netbook with actual usability (nicer form factor, higher res screen, non-Atom CPU).

Litebook has launched a $249 Linux laptop, which the company said is highly optimised, and free of bloatware, malware, and viruses.

"All Litebooks come preinstalled with WPS Office Suite, which is compatible with Microsoft Office."

But WPS Office has malware and viruses ... or is it a case of "except on Linux"?
