Facebook to bypass ad blockers

Facebook said it will show ads on Facebook desktop for people who use ad blocking software.

This means the company has found a way to bypass ad blockers – but how it has achieved this is not known.

Facebook will also give users more control over the ads they see on the social network.

“We’ve designed our ad formats, ad performance, and controls to address the underlying reasons people have turned to ad blocking software,” said Facebook.

“When we asked people about why they used ad blocking software, the primary reason we heard was to stop annoying, disruptive ads.”

Facebook said it is not paying ad blocking companies to bypass their services.

“We’re putting control in people’s hands with our updated ad preferences and our other advertising controls.”
