Spotify to acquire SoundCloud: report
Subscription music streaming service Spotify is in talks to acquire SoundCloud, the Financial Times reported.
According to the report, the talks are at an advanced stage and an announcement of the acquisition could be made soon.
Variety noted that if the acquisition is announced soon, it would be just months after SoundCloud launched its own subscription streaming service, SoundCloud Go.
Before SoundCloud Go, the company was an online audio distribution platform that focussed on letting its users upload and share their originally-created sounds.
