Google discloses Windows GDI bug
Google has disclosed a Windows GDI bug. This is the second time in three months that Google has revealed a bug in the Windows OS without Microsoft having released a fix, according to Bleeping Computer.
The reported bug affects the Windows GDI (Graphics Device Interface) (gdi32.dll).
The report further stated that the bug was initially “part of a larger collection of issues discovered in March 2016, and fixed in June 2016, via Microsoft’s security bulletin MS16-074”.
Google said the MS16-074 patches were “insufficient”, and a new bug report was submitted in November 2016.
“Microsoft failed to patch [the bug] in the 90 days interval Google allows vendors to fix bugs before going public,” said Bleeping Computer.
The news comes after Microsoft recently delayed its Windows February security update.
