Massive backlash against Windows 10 update
Chinese users of Microsoft’s software have voiced their opposition to the company’s push to get them to upgrade to Windows 10.
According to a report by Fortune, the Chinese site Weibo has over 1.2 million complaints on it about the Windows 10 upgrade.
“The company has abused its dominant market position and broken the market order for fair play,” said Zhao Zhanling, a legal adviser with the Internet Society of China.
The posts come after Microsoft was accused of changing its pop-up box asking Windows users to upgrade to Windows 10 to schedule the upgrade if the red “close” cross was clicked.
Disabling of critical updates
PC World recently reported that Windows 7 and 8 users have disabled critical updates in their operating systems in a bid to avoid downloading the Windows 10 update.
The report stated that this can leave a user’s PC open to attack, as security updates and other patches are not delivered as a consequence.
