Don’t install iOS 10: Apple users
Apple iPhone and iPad users who are planning to update to iOS 10 should wait a few days before doing so, according to multiple reports.
The Verge, The Next Web, and MacRumours reported that the update – which launched on 13 September – is causing problems for iPhone and iPad users.
Hundreds of users have taken to social media to complain about the update, which:
- Asks users to plug their iOS device into a PC or Mac for a complete restore of the operating system.
- Results in users losing data due to device restores.
- Putting devices into recovery mode or “bricking” the device.
The publications advised users to wait a few days while Apple remedies the issues.
Update: Apple says issue fixed
Apple has issued a statement on iOS 10.
We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability.
The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers. Anyone who was affected should connect to iTunes to complete the update or contact AppleCare for help.
