Reports started surfacing earlier this afternoon (17 April 2013) that Google Apps users were unable to access Gmail, with Google confirming that it is investigating a disruption in services.

According to the Google Apps status page, the search giant is investigating disruptions to its Mail and Drive services, and a total outage on the admin control panel and Google Apps API.

Google said that the disruptions to Google Mail are affecting less than 0.007% of the Google Mail user base, and confirmed that affected users are unable to access Google Mail.

It also promised an update on the outage affecting the admin control panel by 16:00 South Africa time.
