Google Play introduces smart app updates

Google has enabled a new Google Play feature which allows for more efficient updates.

Instead of downloading the whole app (and its update) again, Smart Updates allows for only the incremental differences to be downloaded and added to the existing app.

This delta update service saves data and battery life for Android devices.

The new service will especially benefit large apps and games, where only the extra content or features will be downloaded instead of all the original assets.
