Microsoft sued over Surface storage capacity
Microsoft has received a lawsuit regarding the storage capacity of the company’s new Surface tablet.
The Surface RT tablet comes in two sizes – 32GB and 64GB. As with most devices today, the operating system takes up a portion of this internal storage, leaving slightly less user-available capacity.
After running out of storage space in his Surface, Andrew Sokolowski, a California lawyer, was disgruntled by this and has sued Microsoft for false advertisement.
Microsoft issued a statement saying that “customers understand the operating system and pre-installed applications reside on the device’s internal storage, thereby reducing the total free space.”
Sokolowski and his lawyers are seeking a class action status for the lawsuit.
