Telkom cable damaged
EWN today (20 July 2011) reported that the Ekurhuleni Municipality call centre is experiencing problems after an underground Telkom cable was damaged.
According to EWN, Telkom is currently replacing the cable which should resolve the problems in the area at around 17:00 today.
Municipal spokesman Zweli Dlamini is quoted by EWN as saying “Telkom is busy fixing the line which started early this morning [Wednesday] and it will continue until 17:00 in the afternoon or even later.”
“We are appealing to members of the public to who have life threatening emergencies to use our alternative number which is 10177,” said Dlamini.
