Damaged Telkom cable impacts Ekurhuleni Municipality

Terribly sensationalist title when all that's actually happening is that a muni cannot be reached.

Why doesn't the title say 'Ekurhuleni having phone problems'? Oh, probably because 'Telkom cable damaged' would result in a LOT more people viewing the article, resulting in a LOT more ad displays to visitors who were basically tricked into thinking there was some sort of major problem with a Telkom cable that would most likely affect their internet access.

What's next? An article entitled 'Telkom sold to foreign company', with the contents then being about how in the late 90's Telkom was sold to SBC?

Anything for an extra ad view I guess.

Lots of Telkom cables being either damaged, or stolen, or both (damaged while attempting to steal it). It seems as if winter is prime time for copper cable thieves. Anyone else notice this trend too?
