Anyone remember those?
I wouldnt consider any of those classice except daytona (which is still the biggest selling arcade game in history)

interesting thread this...i have been on leave this week and started building my arcade cabinet (planning started in 2005...so i'm a bit behind) as well as a dedicated jukebox based on "sk jukebox" software.
/me love mame games. wife digs burger time, and my son loves time pilot.

where can u download the .chd files for some games (its the hard disc image) i think its needed for killer instinct and the like....help someone plz
Have tekken 3 and its over 20 megs (so it's guaranteed the one u are downloading wont work)

Guys, can you point me in the right direction as to where you guys get the emulator and the games ? I really want play Tekken 3 as well some of those other games you mentioned, like the classic Golden Axe.

i have been trying to get The Incredible Machine for awhile now and there is a windows version but i have not figured out how to get it to work. i deleted it now but if anyone knows how ican play that game please let me know, i am running xp.

I'll recommend u lot get mame32 as it has an easy to use graphical interface

Mame is just an emulator which fools the game roms into thinking they are running on the original hardware ! the amount of games that mame is able emulate perfectly is a miracle in itself, some games would require a hell of alot of processing power that's why they're not emulated yet (e.g sega model 3 games)
other games have encrypted roms and require other secondary misc processors which are not emulated yet ! it would be impossible to emulate every game arcade game perfectly !
Also having more accuracy in emulation requires more processing power thats why you get some programmers that are HLE or high level emulation fans and others that are LLE fans

get an ms dos overlay program (fools the game into thinking its running on an ancient pc in dos mode)
thanks for that Dohc-WP but even with alot of the games not playing there are still hundreds that are. it was so cool to be able to play those old games again and there is such a huge selection its fanastic.
