ADSL accounts cut off

So much for being "uncapped"... Amazing what these comapnies get aways with. Uncapped to me means uncapped, if I want to donwload 1TB then that is fine.

Well I've sent in my cancellation, only using just under 30 gigs a month I can easily do my local bandwidth shopping elsewhere.

Mweb your customer service sounds shocking form management all the way down to the call centre employees. Truly despicable.....

The worst I have ever come across in the SA Broadband Community !!!

Fook you mweb... I told you, its going to get ugly...

I got cut off... And i'm still waiting for somebody to phone me after I left 5 messages, with 5 different managers for them to phone me... Client service is really your strong point mweb.

Good week for ADSL users in this country .. is it not?? Telkom plus MWEb .. my goodness, do none of them know what it is to run a business?? Absolutely useless. VERY much like the UK's BT in the old mono/duopoly days. Little or no competition in this space = unbridled corporate incompetence.

btw, high usage??? 100 Gigs a month? There are some ISPs in the USA who recently started capping usage... their cap? Try 250 Gbs a month. so don't come with this "high usage" crap. South Africans have had to live with these throttled caps for years now and we are sick of it. We want to live in the real world. This is going to come back to bite you. You could have handled this a lot better mweb.

I told them the same thing... That other countries around the world does not charge you for local bandwidth... Quest what their answer was. Its not us, its Telkom... Not taking any blame for themselves.

I can only imagine how many unhappy mweb subscribers are filling out that cancellation forms right now

This my friend is the problem.

Wow you see free uncapped and you go crazy and download as much as you can.

Typical africa mweb offer their hand and users gobble their entire body. greed is very very bad. Now you won't even get 11gb. Yea quik and they must be very angry with the few who abused the service to the point mweb decided to scrap it.

When asked what misconduct the users are these users guilty of, MWEB said that “...one of the users has used 2 terabytes of data

Uhmm taking a 4Mbit line for 30 days 24hours a day you can download 1.296 TBytes in best conditions according to my calculations. Sorry dont believe it:confused:

If you give the public "unlimited" access, you should expect high usage.

MWEB was naive to expect the people to only use unlimited access sparingly.

Picard 100-150gb but some people cannot take a good deal and look after it, instead they feel the need to take a good deal and rape the crap out of the deal, then moan when the deal gets revoked.

I do not think mweb expected people to pull 1tb a month, that is flippin crazy.

IKE free uncapped which is what you got right? I think you all know the bandwidth limitations in this country yet some still felt 1tb was a reflection of our bandwidth situation, you guys need to admit that a few people abused a free uncapped service and are more than likely the reason mweb is doing this. Of course it is easy to blame mweb but the sad fact is downloading close to a 1tb is nothing more than crazy and not in keeping with the spirit of mwebs deal, i think the people downloading those kinds of figures a month know they are going overboard but typical of Africa they just do it anyway. It you can rape something, rape it mindset is so typical of this country, no wonder companies screw us because the moment they do something half decent we try and screw them.

This is like telling your domestic she may take some food home and she leaves with majority of your food, you did tell her she could take food!!! Did she need to take all of it? So blame mweb all you like but when you have people abusing a system you need to stop said system.

People are tired being ripped off, being charge ridiculous prices for something which is free in the rest of the world and for bad service... If you are happy with bad service and the rest above. I really hope you enjoy yourself.

not when you are using 4 X 4mb lines

I must say I found the M-Web deal confusing: It says you get free local bandwidth AFTER you use your 1 Gig cap. This means when you buy a booster you lose out on the free local b/w but end up paying for it. If you don't buy a booster you get it for free. This is the crazy part to me - why not just run two separate caps?

Well then they should not advertise it as uncapped.

During the MWEB Trial programme, it emerged that some 95% of MWEB customers were only using about 2GB of free local-only ADSL bandwidth per month,” the company announced.

So only 5% of people used more than 2GB, that really is not much and I suspect the 2TB case (besides being impossible) you can put down to a few rare cases.

Really no point in trying to make excuses for them. No one was ripping it them off or abusing things.
