Anyone know where I can get either a

Saitek (any good rumblepad)
Logitech (any good rumblepad)
or the official Xbox 360 Controller for Windows

for cheap. I'm open to other controls... so long as its not a cheapish control with a finicky analog and buttons.

Thanks

Yeah I am looking too. Not much stock of the xbox one around, cheapest I saw that was at Take 2 for R303 but no stock :(

xbox - lookalike controller WITH Air Cooling @ R550 @ BTGames

I got two Logitec (Think it's called silencer) control pads, that look like Playstation Joypads, for only like 100 bucks each - works great!

Recently incredible had xbox controller with Crackdown and Project gotham racing 4 bundled for R550, u can always not open the games and then go trade them against new games.

Just out of interest. How would the xbox controller work with your pc? Just plug it in and start playing or would you need to get a special program to configure it

Esquire had a cheap controller - like R120 and it's working quite nicely on my PC actually. Analog controls have nice feel, accurate and not dodgy or loose.

You just need the drivers, iirc, which you can get from the MS site. 7 probably has them included.

daaam well that sucks... cause I especially want to play DMC4 with it and I'm also hoping to get an xbox to hook up to my monitor and then I'll have two controls!

There's the Xbox for windows one at Take2, which is pretty much identical, but is R372 D:

They are identical except the PC version comes with a CD driver disc. Works with Win 7 without drivers disc, i.e. drivers included in 7.

I'd advise anyone who wants to buy a gamepad now to buy an XBox360 controller. I've got a Logitech Rumblepad 2 and just about all new games do not work with it, well not without running external programs. All the new games make use of the XBox360 controller.

Just have a look at the Logitech forums to see how people are complaining:

I read on a forum that the older version of the controller was not compatible with PCs due to the firmware installed on the controller. So only the "Windows certified" controller will work with a pc

That's not true, they're all identical (wired ones). I bought an extra controller for the 360 back in 2006, and it still works perfectly on my pc.

sh#t... i was afraid of that

what about that Logitech chillstream, it looks a lot more like a xbox control?

Dude just get the xbox 360 controller. I got one and I play all of my games (except fps') with it.

Seriously, racing, sport, rts I play them all and it's made me enjoy the games a lot more.

Thanks Stickfigure I'm going straight for the xbox control but does the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows XP USB work on vista?

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah it can, but only with Batman so far - it's a little hack that sometimes works, but yes it has force feedback capabilities.

Anyone know where I can buy an xbox control (wired)... I've been waiting for kalahari to get stock since I made up my mind to get xbox control
