Vodacom says its network quality was maintained during 2010 World Cup

If by network quality they mean frequently dropped calls, no signal and "network blocked" messages... then yeah... all was as usual. :p
 
Just shows you corporations are a dishonest bunch of lairs, zero integrity.
 
Sms getting delayed even in rural areas including drop calls.
Yes I agree they are a bunch of liars but all networks never had outages.
 
Well, I could surf the net without any interruptions, glad the Seacom fiasco didn't affect me....phone calls was cool, data worked good on my iPhone, SO.... I am a happy camper.

Even in middle of Johannesburg, cellphone loses connection to Vodacom at all.
 
I've had a lot of connectivity problems since I ported to Vodacom 7 months ago. Seems that MTN is the better connection after all, despite their terrible billing issues.
 
Apparently MTN were mighty close to being in the same situation as vodacom, but they bared the brunt of it while vodacom failed. Glad i'm with mtn now :-)
 
Well it was a lot better during the last month...with that meaning only 1 or 2 dropped calls per day instead of 10... :D

I hope they get their ***** sorted out fast.
 
Had absolutely no problems my side. I tweeted a couple of pictures at the three games I went to, and had no problem uploading the data (Greenpoint Stadium).

Interesting about this World Cup was the % increase in data (like your tweets) which was greater than expected compared to the increase in GSM services during the period.

I suspect we're seeing an acceleration in uptake of data services but then again it was maybe just the Vuvu's forcing everyone to resort to data. :)
 
This is the biggest load of crap I've ever read!

Vodacom was caught with their pants down this WC!!

I have never experienced worse service and network degradation of such dismal proportion like I have during the World Cup!! Pathetic is putting it nicely!!

Spend less on advertising and bonuses and more on infrstrastructure you greedy buggers...

I am waiting for the iPhone 4 than switching to MTN.
