Vodafone solar-powered mobile phone unveiled

Been there, done that, doesn't work for me.
Firstly, having to leave your phone in direct sunlight is not good for it and the battery (panel and battery are in one), and secondly it trickle charges so you have to leave it in the sun alot, which means you can't use it while it charges. Overcast days are bad. Seperate solar powered charger unit is better.

You also can't solar charge it when it goes below a certain threshold. Unless this is different to the older ZTE.

20 million new users per year? I wonder if there is an African market for this.
