Cell C New Logo -- Looks like the copyright symbol

Anybody had a look at the new CellC logo.. it looks like the symbol used for copyright.......wonder if they made a mistake
 
It DOES look like that now???

OMG, that flyer mybb reported on is REAL!! MyBB really did it this time!

Because if the flyer was a fake, how did the photoshop guy know the logo is changing?

nope, no mistake. I dont think you can trademark or whatever a copyright symbol by itself, that is why they included the colored bar. anyone knowledgeable on these types of things? it would be really lame if suddenly I cant use the copyright symbol because some company has laid claim to it.
 
Also, check out cellc.co.za... new logo is being used..

I think the MYBB flyer looks like being genuine... so lets hold thumbs for the deals on it

Yep, it seems it's legit. the CellC website was still on the old logo yesterday....
 
Forget the copyright looking part of the logo, I think that part is fine. I guess they will have to use that 'c' together with the word 'cell' everytime so that people don't confuse it with the copyright logo.

My main problem with the new logo is the line at the bottom with different colours. It says to me - "confusion". Blue, red, green and yellow can all be related to the other industry competitors (blue = Vodacom, red = now Virgin Mobile [used to be cell c's color], green = Telkom and yellow = MTN). Are they saying that they are now all of their competitors in one? Its just too busy with the multiple colors.

They should not say that the colors represent the South African flag. That is so patronizing. We know every business is self serving (lets be frank) so please don't use the "we are doing it for you" approach.

Less cash spent on frikken logos means less overheads to cover = cheaper GB for me.

Stuff the logo. Gimme some cheap internet!
 
lol but shame they are trying to get a new image , too bad they did not have someone proof read it ..... :)
 
Dam what happens if i start a company that specializes in fuel cells, now i want to copyright it and i cant because it will read: My Fuel Cell © and Cell © will sue me for stealing their logo?

BTW who remembers the end of macgyver, a-team... the dude Stephen J Cannel who at the end of the show would type something on his typewriter and throw the paper into the air to make a C for his logo.
