Vodacom R99 300 MB data special kick in

oh.. so i can get the linkbook, but then my 300Megs are worthless cos i cant connect... and if i get the modem... well... then i can connect but have nothing to connect with.

why not have a leptop WITH a 3G modem built in and ask R149/pm?

Besides, im getting a but woozy from everyone whippings out their dongles all the time?

The linkbook has an HSDPA module built in - so you will be able to connect.

I must congratulate Vodacom on this deal - sub-R100 for both data and a computing device...one of the best deals of its kind in the world I think. India had a deal like this sometime back on a 36 month contract...256 Kbps speed, basic computer, a few hundred MB of data.

This is the old trick of, Give away the razor, and make your money selling the blades ! Their cost per GB needs to come down a lot before I shall support them.
 
Have you guys seen this laptop, i know its cheap and sh### but, this laptop can't even run java on it.

Yes, a pretty useless device other than browsing the net and getting e-mail. So basically you paying R99 for 300 meg and bound to a 24 month contract. :sick:

Education and 300Mb per month do not go together. If it would be per day it could be true.

Lets be honest they been ripping everyone off for far to long now. Everyone complains, yet they all have contracts with them ,so stop complaining and don't renew the contract.
 
That makes him happy, that makes me wanna cry, thats their best effort at good pricing
 
300mg is nothing! they should be giving away 10gig at that price! - Fail gigs, FAIL hardware!
 
Exactly! I don't know how they can still offer 300MB of data to people. Its pathetic!

1GB per month should be the minimum at least!
 
If Cell C's pricing is as advertised, for R 1 998 they give me two modems and 48 gigs of data (over two years)

Vodacom, for R 2 136 gives me one modem and 7.2 gigs of data. On top of that I'm likely to lose another R 1 000 worth of productive time setting up the contract. All that paperwork, THINK OF THE TREES, DAMMIT.

I know which one I'd choose.

The netbook is a nice deal though, but it's still FAIL, because if you can't afford to buy a R 2 500 netbook cash, you probably won't qualify for the contract.

I am aiting for cellc new broadband Hopefully there pricing is what we saw on mybb and the OFR will be good too.
 
Vodacom, be serious now.
Can I please get data bundles for a reasonable price on my current prepaid SIM? I don't want a crappy netbook or modem, just something decent I can use with my current phone.
Surely I should get the same or lower prices for that since it won't cost you as much to provide me with data only?
