FORMAL COMPLAINTS HAD BEEN LAID @ ASASA; ICASA AND THE ISPA, A HIGH COURT APPLICATION, AND AN APPLICATION TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT. NOW THE WAITING START TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN.

Your support is needed. Every submission, how small, may help to make a change. Thanx.

I hope you have loooooooottts of money.

We own a company (construction/building/IT) with a large legal division, which specializes in contracts. Several of our workers got the call or had been terminated, which I think is simple. We also have troubles with several business accounts. This covers all.

.

Hmm what case would you have to take this to the constitutional court.. what part of your constitutional rights have been violated.. that what needs to be proved.

I dont think they are gonna buy the fact you are upset because you cant download movies quickly..

Let me know what type of help you require.

Don't be disturbed by the apathetic user comments, they will have the opportunity to thank you later.

Please also inform Monique Scharffenorth, Patrica de Lille's PA as she is taking up the matter with the Parliament Portfolio Committee of Communications; her email address is: moniques AT id.org.za

Patrica de Lille (Leader of The Independent Democrats) is the person we should thank for lower Cellphone interconnect rates.

mika1000 you are retarded. Get over it. If you're going to rape the account, you have to be prepared to pay for a proper 24/7 uncapped solution.

By "rape the account" do you mean use it as advertised? Why dont you just sit back, keep quiet and let everyone else do the hard work to make SA a better place.

i won't be too quick to think that. vodacom gave the goverment the finger and they were also unsuccessfully stopped at listing. interconnect rates in part is to "punish" and pave way for telkom to have "cheaper" entry into mobile market.

well done mika1000, this rubbish has to stop.

please let us know what we can do to support this.

any pressure on these corporate gluttons are welcomed...

What a pointless post. I'm sueing the ISp cause they dn't want me to download hundreds of gigs of warez.

*PS if you get throttled/cancelled and its all legal content viva lets sue them. Otherwise get lost.

Why does everyone always talk about the content that you use your account to access? This has been disscussed many many times. It has nothing to do with what you download. An ISP is an INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER. What we do with it is up to us. This is completly off topic to the post, please can the mods start doing their job and stop these completly off topic posts.

Because they lack solid arguments. Those who support the falsely uncapped accounts will always say either
1) AUP! AUP!
2) You must be pirating stuff!
3) It costs an awful lot so their lying is perfectly acceptable

Counter point 1 and they hit you with point 2, counter point 2 they hit you with point 3, counter that and they start back at point 1.

Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

dis even read the post ? didnt the op say its business accounts ? read before you make comments, rather support the man its for the good of all.

A significant part of the uncapped user community simply want clear terms and conditions - not vague, all encompassing terms that can mean different things depending on what you want it to mean or AUP T&C's that are expressed as "Top 20%" when the usage patterns are in fact not available for public scrutiny (as someone said in another thread "I'm sorry sir, you've been shaped to modem speed on day 3 because you are in the Top 20%) - how do you know you are in the Top 20%, you don't - you have to trust the ISP.

ISP and Telco's are NOT trusted by the public - they are not transparent in their dealings - both to the general public and to business customers - (from personal experience - you try getting a straight answer from IS with regard to some of their business charges - good luck!)

So good luck to the OP who appears to have deep enough pockets to take up the cudgels.

What is your goal with all this though? My fear is that you have some degree of success and the ISPs end up pulling the offerings entirely as they become unprofitable. Compared to where we were last year, things have improved ALOT in SA internet. I am more than happy with my current uncapped solution, its not perfect uncapped, but considering 6 months ago I was forking out 4x the amount of cash I am now for uncapped, I'll take it.

Thats a bit optimistic.

Even if successful (which I doubt) the best you could hope for is to stop the ISP from using the term 'uncapped'. They'll very quickly come up with a subsitute e.g. unlimited, unmetered etc. and you'll just start all over again arguing about more word definition.
