Cell C 21 Mbps HSPA+ network switched on this week

Time to give Neotel the boot for the next 12 months at least.

Emphasis is on the the word probably... Probably it won't be this week. Or next, or this month, year, decade. They have been promising this forever and it has been delayed so many times...

Maybe the smaller city thing bodes well for us in the Pietermaritzburg area - we can always hope!

According to a well placed source Cell C are experiencing problems with their HSPA+ network in Johannesburg, but said that the system is performing far better in smaller cities like Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Ag nee man! JHB should always come first...:p

Bugger the speed, I want to know what the final price per GB is. I would be quite happy cruising along at 4mbps, provided it is affordable

Smart move, as they said before. If they launch the service country wide at once, Vodacom and MTN would follow...and maybe because to see if their system can handle the network load, cause DAMMM! Coverage is dropping up and down, internet connection are disconnecting!!

For all we know Cell C tower in the farms are moving with HSPA+,and city folk are waiting lmao! My Cell C tower has microwave dishes on all four sides of the tower, talk waves.

Like all of us here...how much a GB!!!!!??????:D

im betting my bottom dollar the R999 and R1999 price are the real prices they will launch with.

speed and price the balance

I would love to get 15mbs all the time at the price that cellc say they will launch with. Like many users have said give me 4-7mbs all the time at those price and I will be a very very happy guy.

I hope there wont be to many people complaining that they cant get more then 10-12 mbs.

So where would you be able to buy 21Mbps routers/modems in South Africa?

They can just as well have said they're switching on a 150Mbps network - how would you be able to see if it's really that fast?

IM also thinking that. Business wise they going be making alot from the "once-off's".

After all its like taking up a 24 month contact, and paying R2376 for a phone and free min's. Yoh if other networks find out about this MTN might buy off Vodafone hahahah
