Mobile broadband pricing comparison: Vodacom vs MTN vs Telkom vs Cell C

Must admit - it makes the Vodacom, MTN and Telkom look like thiefs (which is true)
The REAL question is : Can Cell C deliver on a quality service with good coverage ? If so, I will be one to consider their offer.

Hopefully this will shake up the mobile broadband market and we will see more realistic prices from the other networks in the not too distant future.

All I can say is a realy well done dudes!

Looks really awesome, I must admit. But who the heck would want to give Cell C R3000 upfront?

Looks good, however what is the topup charges going to be if I need another gig or 2.

Next phase ... delivery. Proof of the pudding ??? dinner time. :)

Even cheaper than Neotel's NeoGo 1.5 EX

Vodacom and MTN will probably wait until the product has been delivered and has reached some level of maturity in the market before they will even consider reducing their profiteering

Where do I find the data coverage map for a specific area?

Has anyone actually gone to Cell C's site, they have taken this deal off the packages, so technically Cell C have released absolutely nothing.

So right now we are discussing packages that do not exist, phone their call centres and see if they know anything about it, lol

It's really put into perspective when somebody else takes the time to do the maths for me :)

A quick look at Telkom 4mbps ADSL line (R 4 956.00 excl telephone line rental) + Axxess 5GB unshaped capped Lite account (R 1 140.00), for 12 months = R 6 096.00

Compare that to the "21 Mbps HSDPA modem, 5 GB of data per month" bundle (R 2 999.00) and the day has actually arrived where it is less expensive for a mobile broadband internet connection than it is for a fixed ADSL connection, or am I missing something here?

Has there ever been a more clear message that we are still being ripped off royally for fixed line broadband.
