Hi there.

I simply cannot understand or grasp how the hell Uncapped Unshaped Accounts from the different ISP's can be SHAPED by IS. For the last three days I have a download speed of 10KB/s... and please note that I have a 384 Uncapped Express + account from Axxess (After Hours = 10MB). So with a 10mb line I get 6KB/s after hours. I mean really??? How the hell can they shape the Top 20% of downloaders this much... why not shape it 50% of normal speed? They are basically shaping 95% of your line. Post something here if you are sick and tired of IS's pathetic shaping policies.

If you are experiencing shaping by IS then respond with the following:

- How much you download a month

- What speeds you use to get before shaping

- What speed you are getting currently being shaped

- What you think of all of this...

IS is the WORST back-bone and I believe the cheapest(guessing) hence a lot of these ISP's tend to buy access from them. They are complete garbage. It's time you move from them until they stabilize in the future(2015+)

and I dont belive the AXXESS stats published on this website earlier today! Its a marketing ploy, IS will throttle you to death. Its a complete waste of R899
 
I'm on an IS account with Afrihost, have 384k uncapped and are currently downloading at 8-10KBps at this very moment.

Same here... 8-10KBps... it took me 10 seconds to load this page to respond... and im paying Axxess R899 for this???

IS enforced this on Axxess... it's not Axxess that is causing all of this... the techie at Axxess told me that IS is crazy if they think everyone will tolerate this... so Axxess is awesome as I have downloaded a TB a month a couple of times... it's IS that IS the new TELKOM...

Axxess is most certainly NOT awesome is my books. Syncing at 8mb/s I got a speed reading of 6.5mb - 7.8mb/s anywhere internationally on the SAIX backbone, with Web Africa as my provider. With Axxess and in turn IS, I get no more than 1.6mb/s, EVER. And not blaming them for the IS backbone but their service is pathetic. I have logged countless queries /faults with them, providing all the stats neccessary. I would have at least appreciated a reply, but nothing - for nearly 2 months now. So cancelled my account with them yesterday and will happily stick with WebAfrica! Axxess killed themselves the moment they switched over to SEACOM..

I'm on an SAIX account with Wazzup, have 384 uncapped unshaped and are currently dowloading at 35KBps at this very moment.

You sure your exchange is not overly saturated? I had terrible downloads earlier this week, but they perfect now. Then again im not trying to compensate for something by trying to download over a TB a month. So perhaps they have flagged you as a potential risk and permanently throttled you? Wouldn't be surprising
