Has anyone taken out this contract? I have a few questions:
Does the R379 per month include both the Iphone and contract?
When your R275 airtime run out, do you have to purchase more the same way as with normal prepaid or do they just bill you extra per minute?
If you do not use your full R275 in a month, does it roll over to the next month?

Thanks.

AFAIK, the top up contract works much like pre-paid airtime. You get R275 after that you need to top up as per pre paid voucher. You may carry over unused airtime, not quite sure for how long though.

carry over is 3 months I think. R275 anytime airtime and includes the IPhone 4, plus 110MB data for R379. you forgot the data part.

1. I have this contract
2. Includes everything, no extra charge
3. Purchase prepaid airtime via atm, voucher etc and recharge like a prepaid client would
4. It rolls over, not sure how many months but it does

Extra info - Dial *111# from the phone and you can buy data bundles and the amount gets deducted directly from your available airtime. I.E start the month with 275 and 110MB of data and if the data runs out simply buy data on the fly via *111# and the value of data (example R189 for 600MB) will be deducted of your remaining balance....

They also have an instant recharge function that once setup, you can recharge your account on the fly using *100*04"insertvalue"# and then your account will be recharge instantly and you will only be billed the following month, there is a cap on this of about R100 i think and it must be activated by calling 111 first.

Also if you take it out via vodacom direct, you pay no sim or connection fee ( another R202 saving )

When ordering from Vodacom Direct as part of an upgrade ask for a new micro SIM to be included in the sale. I didn't ... got my phone today ... but then battled to find a new micro SIM as it is sold out at many places. No use getting the phone and not being able to use it. One can do the SIM surgery thing (cutting a regular SIM to fit), but I wouldn't recommend it.

roll over on top up 315 contracts is 5 months so maybe they're the same

Why not? Works perfectly for me. Even though the cutting seemed to shear the contacts partially. Google micro SIM cutout...

Vodacom staff should realy get their ***** together. I went to a store in Cape Town yesterday to take out this 275 Top Up contract. I was assured that it is R379 per month INCLUDING the iPhone, R275 airtime and R110 data bundle. They are still busy processing the application and I can pick up the phone later today. My friend went to another Vodacom store, also yesterday, and was told that the R379 is ONLY for the phone and the contract is another R275 extra. He gave up after a while trying to convince them that they are wrong and it makes no sense at all.

Yup. Lots of confusion. All Voda outlets/staff etc need to be briefed about this offer.

As usual, Vodacom's staff is pretty pathetic when it comes to communication... nothing new...
Don't you just love it when the customer has to tell Vodacom what they are selling... ha ha ;)

Signed up for this contract today. Phone was out of stock so going to have to wait a week for so, but no mention of needing a new micro simcard.

They'll probably give you a micro-sim when you collect the phone...

They are charging for the R275 = TopUp 275 + R429 for the Iphone 4 ?????

This is not what I signed up for or what their quote stated.

The wording of the official quote from Vodacom:

"Apple Iphone 4 32 GIG + 110 MB Data for 24 months @ R429 PM x 24 Months on TOP UP 275s" +R150 once off

I am wrong in in seeing this as R429 / month x 24 months ?

UPDATE:

OK this is apparently only for the 1st month and the following months will be R429 as the contract states. Very confusing....

Got my statement last night and i was billed as follows

R274.99 for the Top-up 275s
R104.00 24mth Handset Charge
Total Charge R379.99

The there is itemised billing @ R13.00, Clip @ 9.50 and Quick sim R3.00 for a Total bill of R404.49

I knew that the Clip, itemised billing and Quick sim would be seperate...

They have however not billed me the R89.00 for the 110MB of Data, so that is seen as "Free"

Just checked if they processed your Top-up 275 as the promotional version and not the normal version....

MTN has it for R379

MTN has the iPhone 4 for R379/month incl. 150mb data and R200 airitme
