Nokia N8 available soon in SA from MTN

and has a wide range of connectivity issues including 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0.

:D

Interestingly it has the same CPU as my e52. Hope it's up to running a higher res display as featured in this phone.

It would make the perfect replacement for my current E51...somebody sponsor me one plz? :D

Why dont they just say 'on the 5th or the 10th' or whenever!
All the secrecy! When exactly is 'soon'

Wrong!

N8 and all recent Symbian^3 use a a 680MHz chipset with a Broadcom GPU. This GPU processes 32 million triangles per second, which is 10 million more than the 1GHz Snapdragon, and early reviews are showing it is capable of handling 3D content graphics very well...!

Because Nokia is shipping this phone around the world. The N8 has started leaving the factories but initial units will be used to fulfil the many pre orders which were placed. Clearly MTN cannot be certain yet when they will acquire their units therefore why make promises. It should be obvious from perusing this forum, and the internet as a whole, that any manufacturer is better off not actually giving a precise date. Imagine the angry mobs outside MTN if they promised a certain date and could not deliver. It is these exact same impatient people that have probably lead to companies not making promises. A catch 22.

It is becoming rather annoying that "experts" totally ignore this aspect on the N8... and in fact a number of Nokia before. It has been stated that a lot of modern applications heavily use the GPU which takes a lot of the burden off the CPU. Of course if you are a fan boy of another brand it is far easier to just compare 680Mhz (way under clocked apparently!) to 1Ghz and claim an immediate victory.

I found this :

didnt like this part :

“We strive to present our customers with the latest and greatest technology and with the investment MTN has made in its network infrastructure, we can ensure that our smartphone users can maximise their voice and data experiences. Competitive voice and data prices for the Nokia N8 will be announced early November. Now that’s Ayoba!” concludes Taukobong

ja...Ayoba, I think even Kenya will get it before MTN does : http://origin.africanbusinessreview.co.za/news/nokia-n8/nokia-n8-smartphone-kenya-bound
