Heita the new Telkom Mobile brand name

Techcentral now broke the news that Heita is Telkom Mobile’s news name.
Is it new brand name or news name?

Wahahahahahahaha if thats their new name, then some advertising company has litteraly fscked Telkom properly and is laughing ALL the way to the bank....

Must try find out who was responsible, they need a high-five.

I am also not convinced. Maybe the company is going after the rural market and wants a recognizable term to advertise their services - similar to MTN's Ayoba campaign - but I would personally have preferred Telkom Mobile instead.

Simple yet recognisable name. I don't see why its a bad thing. I think its much more catchy and cooler than any other of the telecom companies names after all!

Say the name out loud.. then you'll see why...

I cannot believe that it is their brand name. More likely a teaser... if it's been such a big secret then why embark on this ad campaign so far in advance? To me this looks like an awareness campaign alerting folks to a future event.

Heita = a greeting

I should hope its just an awareness thing, because if it is their brandname then its a piss poor choice.

It's same as:
Vodacom's "Yebo"
MTN's "Ayoba"
CellC "Woza Wheneva"

It's targeted marketing, as RPM said.

Heita. I also don't see any problem. It's obviously directed at the emerging (young) black middle class in the country. Its youthful and vibrant. They don't really listen to what us myBBs have to say anyway. It will be interesting to see how they compete with the big 3 operators. Telkom coming in as they underdog will be good for the industry.
