Hi just stumbled across these guys, they have some decent prices on hard drives and RAM so I thought I might buy from them, anyone ever bought from them? Just checking if they're legit. Thanks.

Hi Synaesthesia.

As previous mentioned in my message to you,
MyITshop is legit. We are a registered CC and have a valid SA bank account. We are currently in the process of applying for VAT. We use a well established courier company for all our deliveries.

We are a relatively new shop and our prices are very very low. We add a small mark up to the cost prices as our main aim is to sell bulk, but we are open to sell all customers. As we are new, we are still loading products on to our website and updating the descriptions and content.

Kind Regards,
MyITshop

Not VAT registered? Last I heard one could get a temporary registration in a day or so from SARS.

It would also nice to see some contact numbers and address for self-collection/return of goods too. It's possible I may have missed it somewhere on the site.

Hi Kayvee,

I will check up on that process with SARS.

Our current communication process is via email or IM (GTalk or MSN) and these address are all list on our site.

With regards to self collection, we do not keep stock at our business premises and we only deliver to our clients. This is listed on our 'Payment and Delivery' page.

With regards to returns and warranties, we advise our clients to contact us first as we can arrange to have the items collected directly from them (at their cost).

Kind Regards,
MyITshop

Seriously has anyone bought from them now - I would actually buy from them if they operate from an actual warehouse and I am able to collect my goods and if it's faulty i can return it.

Do not want to deal with a fly by night shop especially when using oscommerce, if you want to be a professional shop rather look into magento.

If you can organize i7 950 and I am able to collect from you in person then I can rate your store.

Just you are new to the market and taken a chance with a new fish is not in my books if their is no feedback

you must be joking dude, it is almost impossible these days to register for vat due to so much fraud.
these days you either have to prove you are doing the turnover, or submit business plans, turnover projections etc

K, maybe things have changed, admittedly it was many years ago I went through the loop, and thankfully it's something that only has to be done once. It used to be mandatory if your turnover was in excess of a certain amount, forget figure what it was. This has changed? If you are involved in export it's a must, otherwise you just piss it down the drain, which makes your product/service cost overly inflated.

One would think they would be thankful for someone volunteering to pay into the VAT coffers, rather than collecting it fraudulently.

Bump, I also wanna know if they are legit or not, cuz they got some really good prices...... So, who wants to be the guinea pig?

Probably legit, but website is far from ready to be live and from the new consumer protection act ( and even the current electronic communication act) I think it is mandatory by law to list an address and contact tel numer on a website.
Always bugs me when there is no address, means they hiding from something....even if you work from home, thats fine.
