Global broadband pricing benchmarks: How expensive is SA’s ADSL?

Our currency is 7 to 10 times weaker than theirs, so our CEOs need to charge 7 to 10 times more to afford the same Ferrari's and mansions.
 
Well atleast it shows us our future and whats possible. Once llu and "local" is sorted out its going to be good, read good.
 
lmao, talk about being cheated. These CEO's and corporate 'thugs' are really screwing us over and nothing is being done about it. Most of these CEO's have mansions in Europe and Australia, very few even really live here in Africa. Sigh.

I'm sorry but things like this annoy the snot out of me. Research firms seem to be under the impression that the usd 20 that you pay for entry level in other countries where that is a all inclusive cost are the same as the R200 that you pay telkom for adsl line and 1GB. they NEVER include the cost of the analogue line.

A lot of people only have an analogue line in order to get ADSL. So next time, for the love of all that is holy will these firms please do an additional bit of work and include a full cost comparison on entry level broadband.

R539 Uncapped. +-60% -> Telkom IP Connect.

Not hard to see where the problem lies.
 
the terms of adsl have been used incorrectly from the get go, and now these lower "lite" packages are carrying the label of uncapped as the norm, if the ISP only allows 150gb of data per account then its not UNCAPPED, so stop advertising your R496 adsl as uncapped , coz you fkn know full well its not!

This is a little misleading, because the Middle east could be lowering the average for "Middle East and Africa". Whats the raw data for Africa [including South africa in the average]?

I think he means Northern Africa/Middle East. Anyway. It should be noted, all home users get uncapped internet (and is charged for speed, not bandwidth) whereas business users have soft-caps and pay for any bandwidth used over and above their allotted amount each month
