DStv launches Food Network

Oh yay.. a food channel... didn't we have one of those and then they nuked it?

Oh my sack! So BBC Lifestyle isn't enough? I guess one of these days we'll see even more repetition on FOOD1, FOOD2, FOOD3 & FOOD4 :(

I noticed it on the pas7 or something (the last one) bouquet

This, I'll be watching. BBC Food is what got me into cooking in the first place.

I am glad about this as the only channel I watch is the Travel channel. Food Channel will be a welcome change.

Well, see how the Food Network affected Randy on season 14 - episode 14 of South Park. :) Who knows how worthwhile it is going to be for some subscribers. LOL!

My 2 cents on this:

1. DSTV didn't have the decency to tell its subscribers in person ... we find out through other sauces ... sorry but this is really cheap of 'em.

2. We (missus and me) enjoy BBC Lifestyle (180) and have grown to love a number of their programmes and some of the celebrity chefs. Is there really such a huge market that they feel they can edge out BBC with this one?

Will be interesting to see what's in the line-up, but it's going to take something awesome to move me away from 180. Time to watch all these things is limited so this might become a white elephant.

Niiiice, great work with the punnines. Who cares which source we hear it from, for most people it is just going to be a surprise when they wake up tomorrow. I personally don't mind, cooking is always something decent to watch and I find BBC Lifestyle to have less and less of the cooking shows that everyone actually liked about it and more antiques roadshow and cowboy builders than anything great.

MultiChoice today announced that Food Network will be added to DStv tomorrow

Food Network will be added to the DStv platform from 2 December 2010. This 24-hour channel will be available to all DStv Premium and Compact subscribers on Channel 185.

This channel is NOT on Compact, I checked this morning
