AMD officially launches Fusion APUs

No on chip DRM, so how on earth will we be able to stream that "Premium" content from the fat cat studios ?
 
I'm quite excited about these new processors. AMD has finally begun to innovate again!

I'd be keen to buy one of these bad boys from my next laptop :)
 
i wonder how this compares to Sandy Bridge. I don't think Intel has DX11 support.
Looks promising though.

Well, AMD is now more appealing to the consumer... raw power is nice, but who wants to drive a formula one car to work and back everyday?
AMD is now saying, well, you aren't getting a formula one car, but instead, you getting a car with comfy seats, cup holders, a nice automatic gearbox, but there's still an awesome engine under the hood if you want. I like it actually because now you don't have to troll threw laptop manufacturers to fine one with a graphics card, or if you buy one of these, you aren't limited because you already have everything there. If you wanna play a game while the boss is out, you can, even if it's a budget lappy. Lets just hope that the rest of the world sees it this way though.

Sandy Bridge is aiming for the notebook market. Fusion is aimed for low-power netbooks that have always run on puny Atom setups with either wretched Intel IGPs or price-adding and power-sucking Ion graphic solutions. They're quite different solutions. Fusion means you will be able to buy a 10,1-12" $300 10-hour netbook with proper gaming and HD playback capabilities.
 
I learnt my lesson a while back after using AMD chips for years before switching. Intel is miles ahead and everything AMD does, will be done better by Intel, even if it takes them a month or two more.

Then again, I also see no logic in watching HD movies on a 17" lcd screen (may as well be SD for that size) or playing games on a laptop. Its not like either are done while on the move.

So are you saying intel is ahead of AMD or behind AMD? Because it usually takes intel a very long time to introduce the same features AMD has and then they usually en up paying AMD $1.25 in lawsuit settlements.
