Hello
Please could some one help me out here, I have just bought the K4505-Z Vodafone modem and am running VMC release 9.4.8.22167. I just noticed that my CD_Rom drive has stopped working. In the win7-64 Device Manager the following 2 errors are shown, I have no idea how to fix this please help.

TSSTCorp CDDVDW SH-S223C ATA Device (not functioning)
Vodafone USB SCSI CD-Rom USB Devices (not functioning)

Both entries are found in the Device Manager under DVD/CD-Rom devices.

Am I right in thinking there is a port conflict here perhaps, if so, is there a way to fix it

Regards
Aba

The driver is picking up that the device is capable of holding a micro-sd card, and not finding it ... , or the drivers for the K4505-z are not properly installed ... , do not have that problem on my WIN7 64-bit system ...

Thanks oc. I've added this download to the Windows 7 sticky thread.

Solution for this problem .

Hi All

Thanks for the replies and advice, I have found out today after looking closer at this issue that Win 7, reports error code 39, on both the modem and the CD-Rom. There is a small utility available from Microsoft that scans for the problem and repairs it. In my case the utility assigned a drive letter to the modem and CD-Rom and both seem to be working fine at the moment. Thanks for the link to the software, I have been having that issue too. http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us

Kind Regards
