Alienware M11x review (MyBroadband)

i asked Santa and all friends & family for one of these for chrismas... they all gave me the finger :-(
 
How much do they cost?

Apparently in America it is around $900..

South africa is probably more than 3x the price..
 
For that price I could buy a desktop that would run circles around that, then for fun run a square around it. Unless I win the lotto I wouldn't buy it.

Edit: That's not to say I don't want one :P
 
In some games the Enter key doesn't work, gets a bit annoying, apparently its a bios problem, flashed but same problem!
 
R16999.99 at Incredible Corruption.
Just a point on the warranty, the Alienware brand is owned by Dell and their warranties are really second to none.
Best service i ever received was from them. If they cant fix, then they replace with new, if they no longer have spares for that model, then they upgrade for free. Real peace of mind.
I bought mine in the states for R6000 while i was there, and just transferred the warranty to international.
Not sure if i would pay R17000.00 though, however this laptop is the best thing i have ever bought, goes everywhere with me. Battery life using the onboard graphics is about 6.5 hours true use.
And about 3 hours with the 335m enabled.
I havent had any problems with any of the latest games, plays em all very well.
It even plays Minesweeper...........................LOL
 
How did you transfer the warranty from usa to international?
 
It appears to have morphed into the standard resolution these days. Fine for the smaller displays, like the 11.6" I would imagine, although I have never used one at that size/resolution. It's the larger ones I would tend to agree with you.
 
You first contact dell and tell them the tag number, then it takes a couple days to do. All done via email....very easy and troublefree.
