Hi all,

This thread is basically ME saying thank you to all the following people (most are from this forum) for being such a wonderful bunch and donating money to ME to be able to buy my very own Oxygen Cylinder and Regulator as well as some other items.

BIG BIG UP to the following members

YeaNutz, SharkBait, Lycanthrope, Settican & D3x!

There are 2 other people but they requested to remain annonymous (for whatever reason)

AndrePentz also donated, but he is a member on Twitter who follows my Tweets.

For those interested, I needed to raise R1500 (The amount I needed to get JUST the oxygen cylinder and regulator) but then found out that it was going to cost me about R2000 (apparently the price changed since I last checked, and by ALOT!) anyways, the guys above PM'd me and each helped in their own way... THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!

I ended up with R2500 which is way more than I was hoping for!

If you see the attached picture, the O2 (Oxygen) cylinder and Regulator is on the right with a bag that is clearly labelled "Oxygen" haha. and on the left, the small device is the infra-red ear thermometer which is used to check temperate of the patient via their ears.

I do have some cash left (not much), which I will be spending on buying a infant/child BP cuff from Miracle Medical.

Guys, once again, thank you all for the support - I really do appreciate it so much!

For those wondering where the rest of my equipment is, see below;

It's O2 and not Nitrous :)

Well done to those who donated, wish I had seen the origional request as I would have been able too help (but never too late ;) )

Yeah, being a volunteer, the party never really stops.
But the O2 cylinder & regulator was the really big hard part for me, I tried so long and hard to save for that but could never get the amount (personal life throwing me curve balls).

Thanks to everyone I finally got it! (Reflling BTW will only really cost me R50 a shot apparently)

Like getting new HGT sticks (next week) for my glucometer (for checking blood glucose levels) is easy R300 for a 50 pack of sticks. *sigh*
EchoZA, when I do that, I'll PM you if you want to help there... ;) haha.

No promise'ing but will see what can be done, after all my wife works for NETCARE, so should be able too help some way or other ;)

How did I miss this donation call?

I actually recall a whole bunch of us helping a guy with his study fee's at one time also. gdiza I never saw mate I would have helped. Hats off to the guys who pitched in.

Freaking ripoff...

Thx for linking the original, was just about to ask for the link. Hats off to everyone that helped! :)

O.K. sorry I missed the origional post, PM me your banking details and I will make a donation on behalf of myself and the Lodge towards your cause!

Freaking ripoff...

It is!

And you know the sucky part is, I can't get the 'older' machine that everyone else uses (they don't make them anymore) which means I can't goto Metro/Hospital and ask for HGT sticks because they won't work in my newer HGT machine

However, in my defense, where possible, I use Metro/Netcare 911's stuff (especially with regards to HGT sticks)

Check you PM ;) All the best for what you are doing! Many thanks too you from me, and Lodge Trafalgar 1009 S.C.

Hey! Good on those guys! :)

You should have a donation thread of some sort with details.

I'll be happy to donate as well.

I didn't want to start this (it was suggested) because then I'd have random people putting money into an account that I didn't know (then at some point, some people would think it was being abused etc)
What has happened is, people like EchoZA have PM'd me, and have donated - EchoZA's donation for example is going towards buying a new box of HGT sticks which I will post a picture of sometime tomorrow.

This way, it's controlled and I know who to thank.

It's not like I'm trying to stock my own ambulance or something - I'm basically buying equipment that I will need at some point so those who donate know they are putting money to something worthwhile.
I will always need equipment, some more of a priority than others.

:)
