Cell C perplexed by ASA ‘Power to You’ ruling

Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt said today that he is puzzled by the ASA's ruling on the use of the term ‘Power to You’ in their advertising as Cell C was the first company to apply for this slogan to be registered as a trademark in South Africa.

Surely it's as simple as providing the proof that you registered the slogan?

But, as the ASA said, Cell C could not provide any such proof.

Sounds like Lars is crying bully. Again. Because he yet again got caught out.
 
Vodacom version of being competitive, 3G prices get too low for you to compete... go to the courts and nit pick!@
 
Cell C should hit Vodacon back with there slogan, "South Africa's leading cellular network" who said there the leaders... Cell C lead's the 3G market.

How many Cell C 3G subs do you think (or know for a fact) on the Cell C 3G network?
 
What the flying f*#$%? whos gives a rats ass what they called. Its the price / coverage and service we care about

Using number of HSPA towers, and therefore population coverage, Cell C gives Vodacom and MTN carrots. Figures are in a recent MyBB story.
 
“The ASA has found in favour of Vodafone which is an international company over Cell C which is a South African company in our own territory even though we strongly doubt whether South African consumers would recognise ‘Power to You’ as being associated with Vodafone,” Reichelt said.

I have never heard of Vodafone's slogan. The only thing that I associate with VF is red. Are they going to take Cell C to the ASA over their colours too? And that would make more sense seeing as Vodacom is slowly becoming something uniquely British :(
 
this whole thing just reeks of monopolistic behaviour
